Has anyone else seen this issue? I'm curious if other people have this same drive and firmware have similar wear level counts?Īnd this machine is out of warranty. When I first got the error the count was at 99 and it's now 68 just a couple months later. I have no idea what will happen when it hits zero - will the drive just stop working? The drive's own estimate for life used is 0% so clearly this drive is still in good shape. I've just been ignoring the error and now I see it's down to 68.

The Wear leveling count starts at 200 and when it drops below 100 the driver enter failed state. This has to be some firmware problem as the amount of data written to the drive is only 6.9 terabytes. Looking at the SMART data, it is the wear leveling count which is dropping rapidly. A few months ago Windows warned me that the internal drive was failing.
